EMORY EASTSIDE HOSTS COMMUNITY HEALTH SCREENING

January 15, 2010 - Emory Eastside Medical Center is hosting a community health screening this Thursday, January 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in Classrooms 1& 2.  It will include the following screenings: fasting blood sugar ($3.80), cholesterol ($5), total lipid profile which includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL, and cardiac risk factors ($17.80).  You must fast from 8:00 p.m. the evening before with no more than a sip of water to take any required medication.  No appointment is necessary for the Community Health Screening, but you will need to bring your physician’s name, address, and zip code with you.  Remember to wear short sleeves.  Your Social Security number will need to be provided for identification for these screenings.  This service is a collaborative effort by H2U-Health To You and Emory Eastside Medical Center. Age requirement is at least 18 years of age in order to participate. A copy of the results will be mailed directly to you and your physician at no extra charge. This event is open to the public.

Also, Mary Hudgins, Stroke Coordinator from Emory Eastside Medical Center, will be available for free stroke assessments; no appointment necessary.  Also available will be information regarding stroke prevention. Knowing your risk is the first step in preventing a possible stroke.
